◆Vehicle Guide
The KiHa 185 series is a limited express diesel railcar that has been manufactured since 1986.
- All vehicles of this series were inherited by JR Shikoku after the privatization of Japanese National Railways, and further additions were made thereafter.
Some of the trains were later transferred to JR Kyushu, but they continue to be used on various limited express trains within JR Shikoku, including the "Uzushio," "Tsurugisan," and "Muroto" lines.
The limited express "Muroto" was a train that operated on the Mugi Line between Tokushima and Mugi, and was discontinued on March 14, 2025.
Also on the same day, the operation of the KiHa 185 series on the limited express "Uzushio" came to an end.
