This high-grade model recreates one of the most widely manufactured 103 series trains in Japan, specifically the high-cab version based at the Toyoda Train Depot!

Vehicle Guide
● The 103 series commuter train is a Japanese National Railways (JNR) commuter train that debuted in 1964.
●The 103 series trains used on the Ome Line and other lines were introduced in 1976 with the aim of replacing older trains.
Later, the 103 series was also introduced to replace the 101 series on the Musashino Line, and it came to be used commonly on the Ome Line, Itsukaichi Line, and Musashino Line.
●The introduction of high-cab ATC trains to lines such as the Ome Line was after the privatization of JR, with the aim of replacing the early 103 series trains.
●In its later years, the high-cab ATC trains were configured in 4-car and 6-car sets for the Ome Line and Itsukaichi Line, and 8-car sets for the Musashino Line, according to demand, and remained in service until they were replaced by the 201 and 205 series trains.

●This set recreates the 4-car 103 series train set, commonly known as the "Blue Formation," which was based at the Toyoda Train Depot and used on both the Ome Line and the Itsukaichi Line around the 1990s.
●By combining with the separately sold <97648> add-on set, it is possible to recreate the 6-car trains used on the Ome Line and Itsukaichi Line, as well as the later 8-car trains used on the Musashino Line.
●The Type B radio antenna used for high-cab ATC vehicles, as seen on vehicles belonging to the Toyota depot, has been newly manufactured and reproduced.
●The lead car is reproduced with an electric coupler attached.
●It is also possible to reproduce even-numbered lead cars that do not have jumper plug receptacles.
●The H-shaped rubber seals are reproduced in black on the front and pocket windows, and silver on the door windows.
● Jumper plug receptacle and hose are separate parts and user selectable.
● Headlights, taillights, and front display are equipped with a constant lighting circuit board and an ON/OFF switch.
●Headlights, taillights, and front display illuminate with warm white LEDs.
●The front display illuminates in a color close to white thanks to the use of a color prism.
●The front display unit is replaceable and comes with pre-printed parts.
● Selectable car numbers are included, along with transfer sheets.
●TN coupler (SP) is standard equipment.
● New current collection system, black wheels adopted
● Features a flywheel-equipped motor and uses an M-13 motor.
