The Nankai Group is hot right now!!
A set of two Wakayama buses in a复刻 (reproduction) color scheme, commemorating the company's 50th anniversary, has been commercialized.
Wakayama Bus, as its name suggests, is a bus operator of the Nankai Group, headquartered in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture.
We operate a route network mainly within Wakayama City.
In April 2026, we celebrated our 50th anniversary, and as the first part of our commemorative project, we introduced two复刻 (reproduction) vehicles that recreate the design of vehicles that once operated in Wakayama City.
This vehicle recreates the design of the so-called Nankai Electric Railway buses that were active in the 1960s, which were based on blue, and the two-tone color scheme of the vermilion and cream-colored buses that were in use when Wakayama Bus was founded in 1976. This marks Wakayama Bus's first newly built bus with a retro paint scheme.
The product will be a set of two of these retro-painted trains, which began operation on October 31, 2025.
