The Bus Collection JR Bus Tohoku 2-Vehicle Set Featuring a Retro JNR Design and a Current Design

Over 80 years have passed since the opening of the JR Bus Tohoku Shimokita Line
Set of Ominato Branch's JNR reproduction bus and Ninohe Branch's current livery bus now on sale!
The Shimokita Line (nicknamed the Shimokita Seaside Line), which connects JR Bus Tohoku's Tanabe, Ominato Station, Kawauchi Town, and Wakinosawa City Hall, will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2024 since the opening of the Tanabe-Kawauchi Town and Kawauchi Town-Mutsu Wakinosawa sections in 1943 as a Ministry of Railways-operated bus.
To commemorate this, JR Bus Tohoku has begun operating a "JNR Reproduction Bus" equipped with the headmark and emblem from the JNR bus era at the Ominato Branch Office, which is in charge of the Shimokita Line.
Inside the train, a project organized by volunteers from the Ominato branch office has been put up on posters displaying precious records such as the Shimokita Line timetable from the days of the Japan National Railways and the state of the towns along the line when two-man trains were in operation in the 1960s.
Also on display are the "bus stop sign" and "bus information board" from the time of the Japanese National Railways, which were used on the former Abejo Line (Kawauchi Town to Yunokawa Onsen).
This set will be a set of two buses, one featuring a JNR reproduction design and the other featuring a current JR Bus Tohoku route bus.
