The first-generation RAV4 was born as a passenger car-based urban SUV.
However, it does have the performance required of an SUV, and it made me imagine a variety of uses, even in Japan in the 1990s, when the car camping boom was still going strong, such as putting a tent on the roof and going on long trips.
The TLV-NEO is a version of the first-generation RAV4 equipped with a roof tent.
It reproduces the front grille pattern of the RAV4 J sold at Toyota Auto Stores, and is equipped with steel wheels for use on rough roads.
Combined with the silver body color added in 1996, it gives off a stylish yet honest impression.
