新規製造されたグループは、乗降扉が3扉の仕様となっています。
下関総合車両所岡山電車支所の105系は、7編成14両が在籍しており、主に福塩線・山陽本線で運用されています。
本製品では、ボディーカラーが黄色一色に変更され、床下機器がグレーに塗装された近年の姿を再現します。
動力ユニットはTM-18(20ｍ級D)、走行用パーツセットはTT-04R、パンタグラフはPS16W＜0289＞を推奨しています。
