105系電車は地方の電化路線で使用されてきた旧型車両を置き換えるために登場しました。
新規製造されたグループは、乗降扉が3扉の仕様となっています。
下関総合車両所岡山電車支所の105系は、7編成14両が在籍しており、主に福塩線・山陽本線で運用されています。
本製品では、ボディーカラーが黄色一色に変更され、床下機器がグレーに塗装された近年の姿を再現します。
動力ユニットはTM-18(20ｍ級D)、走行用パーツセットはTT-04R、パンタグラフはPS16W＜0289＞を推奨しています。
