この線は電化され近代的なカルダン駆動の冷房車も活躍する本線とは異なり、ディーゼル機関車にけん引された2軸客車が旅客輸送の主力となっていますが、富井電鉄では沿線の観光地である垰山(たおやま)への誘客を図るため、線名を旧来の犬山線から峠(たお)線に改称致しました。
先に登場した気動車は湘南顔が特徴の車両でしたが、このたびの日中の輸送力調整のため、小型車両を導入致しました。
合わせて、荷物気動車も導入することで気動車による荷物輸送が可能となりました。
今回導入する車両は富井電鉄の客車や猫屋線同様の、いわゆる新塗装と呼ばれる青地にクリームのツートンカラーで運行を開始いたします。
動力ユニットはTM-TR07、走行用パーツはTT-06が適合します。
