The 209-500 series refurbished trains that were transferred to the Musashino Line have been refurbished and made into a new product.
◆Vehicle Guide
The 209-500 series trains on the Musashino Line were transferred from the Keiyo Line in 2010 due to the introduction of the E233-5000 series, and ultimately 11 trains were introduced to the Musashino Line by 2019.
・In addition to operating on the Musashino Line (between Fuchu-Honmachi and Nishi-Funabashi) and the Keiyo Line (between Nishi-Funabashi and Kaihin-Makuhari/Tokyo), it is also active on the Rapid Shimousa (between Kaihin-Makuhari and Omiya) and Rapid Musashino (between Omiya and Hachioji) services that run directly to the Tohoku Main Line and Chuo Line.

- The headlights light up in a color close to that of an incandescent bulb thanks to the use of a color prism.
- Tail lights and front display illuminate with white LEDs.
