The Y31 Cedric/Gloria, launched in 1987, was a major change from its predecessor, with a more modern styling that made extensive use of curves. In addition to the existing Brougham grade, a new Gran Turismo model with improved sporty performance was added, and the car debuted targeting a younger, more active demographic instead of the existing conservative demographic.
The 1989 minor change saw major changes to the exterior, such as a major change to the rear combination lamps, an increase in maximum output from 185ps to 210ps for the VG20DET engine by adding an intercooler and using higher octane fuel, and the adoption of the world's first 5-speed automatic transmission.
TLV-NEO has been developing the Y31 Cedric/Gloria in 1/64 scale since 2018, but this time the late model Cedric will be making its first appearance.
The Gran Turismo SV and the Gran Turismo Black SV, a model released in 1990 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the birth of the Cedric, will be added.
The Black SV has a different body color tone from the regular model, and the fin-shaped wheels used on the Cima also emphasize its special feel.
Gran Turismo SV is inspired by the yellowish silver that was commonly seen on the streets at the time.
