The M1078 is a four-wheel-drive, 2.5-ton capacity military truck that supports the U.S. military's massive logistics network.
As part of the Tactical Vehicle Series (FMTV) adopted in 1996, its highly standardized design has led to the development of a wide variety of variants, including cargo truck, dump truck, shop van, and tractor types.
The FMTV is not just a transport vehicle; its excellent platform capabilities have also led to its adoption as the base for combat vehicles such as the "MRAP" and "HIMARS."
