The first-generation Cefiro (A31 model) was released in 1988, targeting the "DINKs" demographic, which was a hot topic at the time.
It was a car that gave off a sophisticated impression, with no clear grade divisions and the ability to freely combine engines, interiors, and exteriors through the Cefiro Coordination system, as well as styling including headlights covered with crystal covers.
Later, taking advantage of its FR layout, it was used both domestically and internationally as a base car for drifting, along with the Laurel and Silvia from the same period.
Even now, some 30 years after it was replaced by the second generation, the popularity of the first model has not waned.
